Curbside Sort:
Recycling has become one of the fast growing aspects of waste removal. Depending on your location, your recyclables can be picked up in a number of different ways. The first and oldest way is to sort the recyclingright at the curb or street. The operator will get and sort through your recycling container at the truck dividing the commodities into the different bins. Each bin is then dumped separatelyto keep the glass, paper and plastic separate.
Single Stream, Split Stream :
Over the last 5 years, new sorting facilitieshave sprung up that pay for recyclable material. They will also accept this material unsorted and sort it themselves. This saves Cities and Contractorstime and does not require multi-compartment trucks to curb sort the recycling. A regular rear loader or two stream side or rear loader can be used.
Automated:
With automation of refuse becoming a standard way of removing garbage, recycling has joined the group. If the recycling does not need to be sorted, and residents are provided a cart for recycling, an automated truck can be used to pickup the recycling container. This is the quickest and easiest way to pickup recycling. One man who will never leave the truck and works in a climate controlled cab.
