Refuse Collection Equipment
Rear Loaders:

Still one of the most popular ways to collect municipal garbage is with a rear loader. Ranging from 6 to 35 yds in capacity and with capacity up to 18 tons, a rear loader gets the job done. Available also with a rear container winch for dumping commercial containers. Rear loaders are used to pickup household garbage, yard waste, commercial containers and recycling.

Side Loaders:

A newer and rapidly growing way to pickup household waste is using a side loading garbage truck. Both semi-automated and fully automated units are used in high population residential areas due to their ability to collect up to 1500 homes a day just using one person.
Automated side loaders allow the driver to operate an arm to reach out and grab a container and dump it. All in the safety and comfort of the cab of the truck.

Front Loaders:

For commercial dumpster's you need a truck with a lot of capacity and compaction power. Most front loaders in the United States will hold up to 40 yds of trash and pickup containers weighing 8,000 lbs.
Some front load garbage trucks are equipped with scale systems that weigh each container as it is emptied. Other options include third axles, camera systems and wash out systems.

Other ways of collecting garbage, trash and waste include:
Grapple Trucks , Recycling Trucks , Roll Off - Hook Lifts ,Street Sweepers, Compactors, Roll Carts
